I guess, last month is about $2500, and previous month is less than $2K.

Any plans in your mind how to get every member pay $1 every month?

I gave my opinion on this in past. As we are dealing "very intelligent" community, need straight forward agenda to collect donation. Vague ideas don't work for collecting donation in our community. Pappu took a nice initiative and published 5 high level agenda items. Lets analyze how much money each agenda will need and we can move forward from there.

Didn't get to file GC till 2007 unfortunately...

My app was received at the NSC on June 28th at 9:02am. I havent receviced receipts or checks cashed. If for some reason my app is denied or there is a request for evidence after the 17th of Aug are we able to resubmit or will it be too late?

In VA can we extend Driving License with receipt notice of h1 extension .

Hi Virtual55,

I check with one of the DMVs in VA and they are not ready to accept the receipt notice, instead they very clearly are expecting a 797 approval notice.

Let me know if you have any advice to handle this situation.

1. The days of an immigrant waiting to buy a house until he gets his GC have gone. These days H1Bs r buying homes left and right. More than settling, they look at it as a business prospect. I know atleast 5 guys who r still waiting in the wings who've bought homes. Look, u know u r gonna wait until GC and u know u will get ur GC...so why not buy a house? There may be a few who'd be pessimistic about their GC applications and wud think twice b4 making a huge investment and AFAIK, that percentage is very less.


LOL, there is another thread �buying a house when 485 processing is pending�. Post the above over there and you will see that you would have stirred a hornet�s nest. People will jump on you.

Personally I think US is not losing as much as it is gaining by not giving us GC, but I appreciate your efforts. We are the real losers here.

My heart jumps with joy, but my brain still caution the heart to wait for the official visa bulletin at DOS/USCIS website. USCIS has a trend of "correcting" the visa bulletin. Nevertheless, if the dates are really what they are published at Mumbai site, its a time for us to be happy.

EB2 looks promising, but in this moment of joy lets not forget our friends in EB3 category. Anyone whose priority date is current, please don't just move forward with your joy, and continue to support IV and our initiatives to help legal immigrants. We have suffered so much because the folks who came prior to us never bothered to support legal immigration, once they got their their GC. Please remember that after GC/Citizenship, our status in this nation as a minority group depends on how active we are socially/politically.

I just registered for IV. I wish I could come to DC rally on 18th. But due to certain unavoidable circumstances I may not be able too. Though not an excuse But I feel very guilty about it and this guilt will always remain there that I was not part of rally on 18th.
